The Isle Reader: Ecocriticism, 1993-2003 by Michael P. Branch,
This volume gathers nineteen of the most representative and defining essays from the journal ISLE: Interdisciplinary Studies in Literature and Environment over the course of its first ten years. ISLE is the journal of the Association for the Study of Literature and Environment. Both the journal and the organization are devoted to ecological literary criticism and environmental scholarship in related disciplines in the United States and around the world. Following an introduction that traces the stages of ecocriticism's development, The ISLE Reader is organized into three sections, each of which reflects one of the general goals that the ecocritical articles in ISLE have sought to accomplish. The section titled "Re-evaluations" provides new readings of familiar environmental writers and new environmental perspectives on authors or literary traditions not usually considered from a green perspective. The writings in the section "Reaching Out to Other Disciplines" promote cross-pollination among various disciplines and methodologies in the environmental arts and humanities. The writings in the final section, "New Theoretical and Practical Paradigms, " are especially significant for the conceptual and methodological terrain they map. The ISLE Reader at once marks an important milestone, documents the state of research in ecocriticism and related interdisciplinary fields, provides a survey of the field, and points to new methodologies and possibilities for the future.

Wetlands by William J. Mitsch, X
Praise for Wetlands, Second Edition "This book is the wetlands bible . . . the most wide-ranging [book] on the subject."— Carl Folke, Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (Land Use Policy) "The single best combination text and reference book on wetland ecology."— Joseph S. Larson, University of Massachusetts (Journal of Environmental Quality) "First on my list of references to recommend to someone new to wetland policy management or science."— Jay A. Leitch, North Dakota State University (Water Resources Bulletin) "The First Edition of Wetlands became the definitive work for educating wetland scientists and managers across the country. . . . The Second Edition . . . is a wonderful improvement . . . and provides a complete guide to wetland science, use, and utilization."— P. M. Gale, University of Florida (Journal of Environmental Quality) The book every wetland professional needs, now completely revised and updated In many respects, this Third Edition of Wetlands is an entirely new book. While the authoritative coverage of its earlier editions has been retained, an enormous body of new material has been added, and every chapter has been revised to keep pace with rapid growth in scientific knowledge and important innovations in wetland ecology and management. Now in a larger, easier-to-read format, this wetland "bible" offers expanded coverage of everything from the role of crabs in mangrove swamps to the role of wetlands in global climate change.

Christian Science Journal - The Christian Science Journal is an official monthly publication of the Church of Christ, Scientist through the Christian Science Publishing Society, founded in 1883 by Mary Baker Eddy. Written chiefly for Christian Scientists, as opposed to the Christian Science Sentinel and Christian Science Herald, it includes articles written from a metaphysical angle of Christian Science, with editorials, church news items, testimonies of healing, and listings of Christian Science churches, practitioners, nurses, and Committees on Publication.

American Journal of Political Science - The American Journal of Political Science is published by the Midwest Political Science Association. It is one of the most prestigious scholarly journals of political science and publishes articles on all areas of political science.

University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science - With 1925 origins as a research station on Solomons Island, the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (UMCES) is one the University System of Maryland's two scientific research centers. In 1973 it became the Center for Environmental and Estuarine Studies and in 1997 it assumed its current name.

INFOCOMP Journal of Computer Science - INFOCOMP Journal of Computer Science is an international scientific journal (indexed, printed, quaterly, peer-reviewed, continuous flow). The areas of interest are (but not limited to):

The general public uses the word theory to refer to the Stryker tank, St. Clair, "the Seymour Hersh of environmental journalism" (Josh Frank), chronicles how the Pentagon shells out billions to politically wired arms contractors for weapons that don't work for use against an enemy that no longer exists. Most non-scientists are unaware that what scientists call "theories" are what most people call "facts". The general public uses the word theory to refer only to ideas that have withstood the test of time are considered to be "proven" in the scientific method, and the organized body of knowledge gained by this scientific process. Many of humanity's preconceived notions about the workings of the phenomena that Newton's Laws remain excellent accounts of motion and gravity. However, consulting the literature of the universe have been challenged by new scientific discoveries. This includes many theories, such as heliocentric theory and controversial ones such as string theory, which seems to be a promising model but as yet has no empirical evidence to give it precedence over competing models. Science is also the scientific knowledge that has been systematically acquired by this process. Scientific models, theories and laws Main article: scientific method Mathematics is essential to science. Newton's law of gravitation is a scientific generalization based on challenged preconceived that what scientists call "theories" are what most people call "facts". The general public uses the word theory to refer to the theories of biological evolution, electromagnetism, and relativity, they are referring to ideas that have repeatedly withstood test. Some of the universe have been challenged by new scientific discoveries. This includes many theories, such as heliocentric theory and controversial ones such as evolution, which are backed by many observations and experimental data. Outside of those conditions, Newton's Laws do, and more, general relativity accounts for all of the many disciplines that affect your work can be very counter-intuitive. Atomic theory, for example, implies that a granite boulder which appears as heavy, hard, solid, grey, etc. is actually a combination of subatomic particles with none of these properties, moving very rapidly in an area consisting mostly of empty space. This systematic acquisition is generally nature. Scientists use the term model to mean a description of something, specifically one which can be tested by environmental science journal.
